◆Your name?

◆If possible, your age?
I'm not really fourteen (biologically), but I never grew out of it!

◆When did you start drawing?
I've been drawing ever since I can remember. Heck, I even have a picture of myself drawing, on my grandpa's desk when I was around four years old!

◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right--and it kills. That's why I'm struggling with the feeble attempt of writing and doing everything else left-handed.

◆Which is easier to draw - male or female?
In my early days, it was male (because I thought female figures were the same as males', only with boobs). But after brushing up on a bit of anatomy, I now say it's female since it's easier for me to draw curved forms and to design the hair. In fact, most of my OC's are female. I now find it so hard to draw guys...

◆Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
They're pretty much the same. It's inking--no matter what color it is--that kills me.

◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
I draw facing to the right (from my point of view) to avoid smudging the artwork with the side of my hand.

◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Ugh… I’ve never learned how to draw profiles… Although my front views aren’t symmetrical, I’d rather draw those.

◆What do you have problems in drawing?
I FAIL AT FEET, LEG POSITIONS, AND VISUAL BALANCE. There’s also backgrounds, anatomy, speed, composition, aesthetics… Must I still go on?

◆What do you like to draw?
I love drawing faces, especially hair and eyes (eve if they’re not plausible). They define my characters well and make them come alive.

◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
As of now, I’m leaning towards traditional, but I believe my upcoming years at college would balance them out quite nicely.

◆Where do you start drawing from?
Everything about my drawings—roportions, measurements, and line of action—are dictated by well drawn eyes. Sometimes, most especially for more cartoon-y or serious works (Wow, that’s rather contradictory?! ), I start with facial guide lines.

◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I can’t help but be so nit-picky about the tiniest details. I just have to fix things, which, more often than not, makes the artwork look worse.

◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
I can never say a thing about coloring. As for shading, it’s simple: observe.  That’s all I’ve done up to this point. Oh, and don’t forget patience and lots of rest for your arm when you’re done (though I don’t take that piece of advice myself ).

◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
FOREVER. The fastest time I can finish a full-fledged artwork would be around eight to nine HOURS.

◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
I do whenever I can. I usually end up having not only a painful hand; but also a scratchy throat.

◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
It depends. But it normally takes me a long time—about an hour or so. Look, I’m not the brightest bulb when it comes to conceptualizing.

◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
My tools of trade include a mechanical pencil, ^UNIpin pens, and an eraser. Oh, and let’s not forget a huge black marker, but I’ve run of that lately… Sometimes, I turn back to the good old ballpoint pen. It’s cheap but it works!

◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Ugh… I… can’t… color… Then, that means I mostly use black with white—I have a thing for neutral and minimalist themes. I do love combining them with deeper shades of more basic colors such as red and green.

◆Your favorite style(s)?
Well, basically manga/anime. I also like cartoons, especially vectored, sketchy, or drop-dead-awesome ones like these:

◆What kind of artist are you aiming for?
I wanna be a versatile artist! Doodles, vectors, paintings—you name it! Even if I’m not a prodigy in anything, I just wanna know a little bit of everything so I can come up with something totally new!
